Jake Shehaan Makes History at Inaugural Peter Lane Memorial Cup Tournament

On Saturday, 2 August, Jake Shehaan etched his name into IPW history by winning the first-ever Peter Lane Memorial Cup Tournament. From start to finish, Shehaan fought through fierce competition—defeating Sir Mr. Burns, Perfect Peter Prince, and finally Te Tahi Vinny Dunn in a hard-hitting final that capped an emotional evening.

With the crowd roaring, Shehaan stood tall in victory, presented the custom trophy by Peter Lane’s wife, Diane, who attended with members of the Lane family.

The night was packed with drama and surprises. Dunn started strong with a win over Will Stone, then went on to defeat Jacked Maximum, who had earlier shocked fans with an upset over Horus. Prince found momentum against Zac Hayle but ran into a brick wall in Shehaan. Meanwhile, Matty Short and Izzy Kinloch brought eccentric flair to their tag match with Khan Capital, but experience proved to be the deciding factor with Khan Capital taking the win.

Jayrilla issued an open challenge that was answered by Xander Taylor, stepping in for the unable to compete Marcus Kool. Taylor held his own but ultimately fell to the overwhelming force of The Great Ape.

With that, the road leads to the next chapter: Fans Bring The Weapons. The brutal feud between Nu Blood and SAS is about to reach its boiling point with the Aotearoa Tag Team Championships hanging in the balance. Stay tuned to IPW’s socials for more details.
